They are holding a free telecourse to introduce this type of therapy if you wanted to try something different.

Come and explore the Internal Family Systems model of the psyche experientially. Everett will guide the group through a series of processes that are designed to introduce you to your own managers, firefighters and exiles also known as 'parts' in IFS lingo. He will also guide the group into connection with Self.
During this phone call you can:
Experience what it is like to participate in a phone class.
Ask any questions about the Internal Family Systems model (you can also send questions by email beforehand and they will be addressed anonymously on the call).
Get a preview of what the up-coming Basic IFS course will cover.
Meet potential course participants.

Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors.
