Hello everyone (hopefully those from Toronto),

I'm having a very difficult time finding a psychiatrist in Toronto who is actually taking on new pts. They all seem to be booked up & not even have waiting lists.

Does ANYBODY know of ANY psychiatrist or G.P. who does psychotherapy & can 'scribe meds in the Toronto area? I am willing to travel.................

Thanks.

http://www.medicalpsychclinic.org/

This one takes new patients and has MDs doing psychotherapy and prescribing if need be. Looks OK, you might want to give it a try, and it's in Toronto and Etobicoke.

Your therapist could send you to a Dr. or you can just go to a hospital and see someone. You can also try this website: http://www.cpso.on.ca/
to find Dr.'s accepting new patients.
Hope it helps...

there are lots of other drs there not just him, just ask for someone other than him if you get the appt from the receptionist, with him. Just call for yourself and find out.

Thanks, WB, but yeah, I am well aware of The Med Clinic on Sheppard there. Called a while ago & no female dr's were taking on new pts, so I'm on the never-ending (so it seems) wait list.

I really appreciate your post.

Hi Ouch

Thanks for your post. Yes, I have used the CPSO site many times......no luck yet, though.

P.S.: Re: Dr. Pare: Yeah, I hear he sucks, but thanks for the additional heads up. I need a female dr anyway.

The best is to find a psychologist /psychological associate / psychotherapist- they know more about therapy than Dr.'s

For sure, ouch.

Too bad I cannot afford a psychologist, b/c I would call one in a heartbeat.

Thank you for your post. Hope you are feeling better, ouch.
