Hi I'm new so sorry in advance for any mistakes.
I have been diagnosed as OCD for quite some time. A while back I was in therapy but after everything was worked out I stopped. Recently I started up with a new therapist. I did not like my old therapist at all, but she did help tremendously. However my new therapist is very nice. I find myself almost kind of wanting to be there and thinking about it quite a bit, in contrast to dreading and hating it before. Is this normal in a successful therapy situation or is it something I should be concerned about? Thanks! |

Hi. Welcome!
It is quite normal to think about therapy and look forward to it. I'm sorry you dreaded your last therapist, that sounds quite uncomfortable (even if she did help you out). If you start obsessing about it to the exclusion of other areas, or stalking your therapist, I would be concerned, but looking forward to a safe place to talk about the stuff that bothers you is not unusual or concerning. Sounds like things are off to a good start with your new T... Hope it keeps up. Also, there are many threads discussing attachment in therapy, and positive therapy experiences. Some of the titles are about missing therapists also. You can browse through the forums, or run a search on it all and you might get more threads than you can read anytime soon. Welcome again. And glad to hear that things sound more positive with this T, even if it's "just" looking forward to seeing her. |

The one I see has reported some people are happy/eager to see her.
