There is no reason for her to think about me one way or the other. I do not usually think about my students or clients while on I am on vacation or in general when not with them - I don't know why a therapist would be any different.

my t told me she will miss me. but i severely doubt if she is thinking of me much. maybe a passing thought if something reminds her of me.

i think she needs a break from me tbh.

No I am not. I cannot imagine a worse fate than being a therapist. I am a lawyer who teaches full time at a university and I still have a small, specialized private practice.

No kidding. The psych majors I knew in college who wanted to become therapists seemed so altruistic. I wonder if they kept that idealism or if they since turned into shills for mental health industry.

Lol, stopdog! I'm the exact opposite. I'm a licensed lawyer who hates law and has never practiced, and wishes she could start all over and become a therapist! ¨

As for the original question, I think my T will think about some of his clients, but not me..

I know he is. And the email he sent me this morning confirmed it.

Has she ever contacted you without your initiating the contact? Many (most?) Ts won't do that for ethical reasons, unless they think their client might be in actual danger. There's a small number of people in this thread whose Ts have contacted them, which is great, but I think those Ts are probably exceptions, or at least not a majority. I know that my T would not contact me except for scheduling questions. It would be incredibly nice to get a txt from him during the holidays, but that's never going to happen. (And I know that my T doesn't think of me in any case.)

To someone like me, the therapist contacting me unbidden for anything other than a schedule change, would seriously displease me.
It would strike me as intrusive and suffocating.
