I'm finally getting to go back to my t after a three-week hiatus (her schedule was crazy last month). SO much has happened in the past few weeks that I don't even know where to start. My son running away will definitely be a topic, but there are other issues I need to get off my chest.

How do you decide what to bring up after a long break?

I'm wondering the same thing. I have an appointment today. The first one since before Christmas and i'm not sure what i want to work on.

Probably that my mood level has been up and down during the break. A lot having to do with my husband and my irritation with him. Also, my boredom.

I wish they could schedule longer appointments after breaks! Maybe I'll make an outline with bullet points. Lol

Remember, it doesn't all have to get covered in one session AND it certainly won't get resolved in one session, so start with what you feel is impacting you most at that moment and work from there.

Sometimes I may go several months between sessions, but I don't go into the first session back expecting I will catch him up on every important thing that has happened in between all at once. He always starts with how am I doing? What is affecting my well being the most at this moment? And we work from there. It won't all get covered, but that is our starting point.
