Yes, I would be offended. I would also be shocked that my therapist was saying it - I mean, he never says or even seems to think stuff like that. He's very respectful. Besides, this is just not a therapeutic intervention in any way, in my opinion.

That might be going a bit far, but it certainly is something that could have been said with more tact. My T might would have said something like that sort of in jest because we banter that way at times, and it wouldn't have all been meant or received as abusive, so context is important. That said, THIS particular T was probaby not bantering with the OP and it was said badly and unsupportively. OP needs a different T.
