If the few 1-2 sessions are supposed to be a evaluation/assessment, and then the psychotherapy begins, what does this mean? Should I assume that the first 1-2 sessions will be more like a Q&A session? How will the discussion be different once "psychotherapy" begins?

Just ask your therapist, I'm sure it varies with therapists and with the client. I know that therapy is a scary thing to start.

Good luck....

It means, the therapist would ask lots of questions to get a good idea of what the problem is and what methods would be best to use with you. Once it's done, the therapy would begin, meaning that the discussions would be more like a regular conversation where you would be doing most of the talking, not an interview.

do you remember when you were in school and you had quizzes/ tests/final exams some days and other days you learned about things....

evaluations/assessments are tests/quizzes that you take either by answering questions on a computer, paper or out loud. psychotherapy is working on fixing your problems that made you want or need therapy.
