So I noticed this very moment that I forget what happens during sessions with my T. When I am in session I am aware what is going on (there was only one time that I was talking and i suddenly forgot what was I saying and what was the question) but once I leave the room everything vanishes from my mind. So it makes really hard to work at home on my therapy... Do you have the same? Any advice?

All the best

I have a similar issue, only once I get into session I forget what I wanted to talk about. And then forget as I am talking..... It may be wise to let T know your concerns.
Thanks for this!

I am planning on doing this on my next appointment (on Friday). There is actually so much stuff I have to tell my T that I don't think 50 minutes will be enough...

I sometimes forget in session too, though mine is due to dissociation-type stuff. One thing that helps is Journaling about the session as soon as I get back to my car. If I'm still dissociative while Journaling, I dont know what I was talking about when I reread it, but if not, it's a good way to jog my memory.

I write something down about my sessions right afterward. Then I can review when I keep forgetting. If that doesn't work, I sometimes just tell my T that I have forgotten what happened and he brings me up to date.

I take notes during my sessions, and journal about them afterwards. There are still things that I forget though. My t remembers everything I say. I just wish she could remember everything that SHE says. I'll remember the gist of things, but not her exact words, and sometimes I wish I could remember her exact words.

Yes, tell your therapist and also take a notepad to write things down. Some things that my therapist says don't "stick." I'm not even aware of it until she asks me what she just said. So, I'm guessing she can tell when it's not sticking. When she asks me what she just said, it still takes a few go rounds and then I will sometimes write it down if it seems important to think about before the next session. This doesn't happen a lot, but maybe once per session. I don't know how I'd deal with forgetting the whole hour.

I had a very big problem with this until I started recording our sessions. I asked permission first. He was skeptical about the idea at first but I've learned a lot the second or third time around. I picked up up on stuff he was trying to tell me when I zone out or have another thought in my head.

Dissociation is a huge problem for me in T. When we discuss something that I know I want to stick with me, I ask to write it down. If I'm really checked out, T writes it. And as soon as I get to my car I record a word salad of the important stuff as a voice memo on my phone. If I don't, by the time I get home I am lucky if I can even remember the theme of what we discussed, forget about the specifics.

This happens to me too and my T is aware. But I only "forget" parts of my sessions. I have noticed that the more comfortable I feel with T, the disassociation is getting better.

Perhaps you can ask your T if it would be ok for you to record your sessions so you can listen to it later. I don't see any reason for your T to object to this.
