That's what it comes down to - I KNOW there are a lot of issues - but every time I seem to start with anyone - THEY blow it by not keeping EVERYTHING private, and as soon as anyone other then my personal doctors are given any medical, mental, or even dental info - that's it, I don't want anything to do with that person.
I don't care why it was done (don't even care if the law says they have to) do it, and you are fired regardless of how much it might have been helping that simple... Keep it just as private as if I told it to someone in a room alone while they were so drunk they will probably forget it before even leaving that room - and we are cool - short of that - go away and don't EVER contact me again that simple. |

I am sorry you feel that way. You think they betrayed you? You think you feel harmed? Do you have many people betraying you? I think you have something bad happened to you long ago. You don't trust people and feel abandoned. I think doctors they really don't take personal point of view about their patients. I think you are just a number among others and you are safe same as other patients. Also, I think you should not be ashamed of yourself. You are a great person with lots to appreciate about you. Many other people have more problems than you have, and there is nothing to be shamed of. I am sure you are safe, let it go. Let it go and forgive them, and yourself. But first find a reason why you feel that way, what is real cause.

I think you might be right - BUT it this point the ONLY way I care to pursue that possibility is if it is done in a matter that is 100% private. Meaning even if police for some reason start investigating something, and end up there - all they will get, even with court orders and warrants would be that there is no info to be found. AND even if you were to use truth serum on anyone involved, you will get no info at all...
Even here it's not really 100% safe - reason, well be definition it's a public forum, so you may not see a real life name right away, but IP addresses are logged, even connecting via proxy - so from her you would get the proxy server, but at some point some proxy has the actual IP logged, and from there, just go to the ISP with it. But yes - you give out any info to anyone other then doctors that are treating me (there's your bit of lead-way, I don't mind about my personal doctors sharing info with each other, but go any farther than that and there's a HUGE problem) you are betraying me - and that is all there is to it. AND I will say that even if you believe it might be a dangerous situation - like I try to buy a weapon - but you somehow thing I might be suicidal or homicidal - - you still better keep your mouth shut or you are fired, no excuses, no two ways about it! |

Red, there are others here who have written that they feel very similar to what you described. They don't want the therapist's office help or assistant to even type or file notes.
As far as I know, there's only one practical solution. That's to find a therapist who's in private solo practice who also does all their own note-taking and filing and don't have anything billed to insurance. Those Ts are out there. Many are older and may practice out of a home office. It would be important to talk to them from day one about your desire for total privacy. They can give you that, but only up to a point. They're required by law to report certain things, like child abuse and imminent threat of violence to self or others. Don't know what you can do if you're using clinics, public services or need to have treatment billed to insurance. Those situations usually mean someone besides your T will be dealing with documentation and billing. I hope you can find a solution that makes it possible for you to find a T who can guide you on this tricky issue. Edited to Add: I didn't see your second post before I wrote my post. Don't know if any situation would fit what you want. Most Ts won't answer questions from the police except in the situations I gave above -- child abuse or imminent threat of violence to self or others or if you've been ordered to treatment by the court as part of a civil or criminal case. I'm pretty sure you can tell a T you used to be a bank robber and they won't talk to the police about it or you could say you did things you don't want anyone to know about -- they won't talk. I'm sorry you're in such a difficult situation. |
