Can you be on SSI or SSDI and still do work study?

Is it considered a taxable job or is it a financial aid award?

I believe it's financial aid, but even if it's not, it's too little to be taxable in most cases. (I think I got maybe 5k a year when I was doing work study) As for whether you can do it while on SSI or SSDI, not sure. You'd have to check with that agency.

I didn't know SSI or SSDI was in Canada. Sorry, I couldn't answer you question.

And get a different answer every time you ask! I hate the SSA. I would check with your school and see what they say.

This website might be helpful?

Usually you cant be on ssdi and go to school full time, because if you can go to school full time, then you would not be considered disabled. I dont know how part time it would have to be for it not to be a problem, or if like they wouldnt mind a knitting class, but would have a problem with courses leading to a degree? Idk.

Yeah, I get that Unfortunately in my experience the SSA are less than useless when it comes to information and are likely to stop your claim on a whim. I don't know who else you could ask other than a lawyer who works in that area...
