Went to the therapist who specializes in couples & bipolar that my former t recommended. First off, I filled out an incredible amount of forms & one with all my meds on it, with dosage, etc. & then she wasted time (as far as I'm concerned asking my meds while she wrote it down in her computer.)

So far she only agreed that I needed to do couples therapy. I'm disheartened by all these therapists, plus my ins. is giving me trouble as far as covering the bills. Right now I've just given up on therapy.--Suzy

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. One of my pet peeves. I fill out all this medical info about family history etc and Dr.'s never read it! They start asking you everything you've already filled out! new therapist new therapist

At least you got the 1st step out of the way. I hope this works out. What were your 1st impressions of her?

Good luck, Suzy. Will your husband come for the couples therapy with you? My insurance will not reimburse for couples therapy or any therapy sessions in which more than one member of the family is present.

What did you think of the T besides your justified annoyance about the recordkeeping and drug stuff?

I hated the form thing too. At least it is over. Sometimes with bipolar it really helps them to know the meds. Anyway down to why you went to see her. Good luck.
