Just need to complain a bit...I adore my T and this is completely out of her control, but I expect we'll either have our session canceled or have to do a phone session tomorrow due to weather.

I know other parts of the country are getting hit (and have been hit) with much worse weather, so I don't have a whole lot of room to complain. We're supposed to get ice and snow tonight in TX...which means that most roads are shut down. I know that my T has a rather large hill to get out of her subdivision and we would both take the same route to get to her office, which means several overpasses and bridges that will most likely be iced over tomorrow. That means that T will either cancel her appointments tomorrow or offer to switch to phone sessions.

Phone sessions with T are rare...I think I've averaged one a year since I started seeing her. I don't handle phone sessions well, but I also really want to talk to her tomorrow. Last year, after a rather disasterous phone session, we talked about what would make them easier for me to handle. I'm hoping T remembers that conversation and that we can do some of those things.

Anyway, just griping, I guess, because the weather sucks, I hate the cold, I want to talk to T in person, and I hate phone sessions. Maybe I'll get lucky and the weather will warm up more quickly than expected tomorrow, or the roads will be more clear than expected.

Sitting here in Texas and the freezing rain just started. It's going to get messy. I get your frustration. My appointment with T (would have been the first since last July) had to be cancelled because of the ice last week. Just that time of year. Not sure where you are in Texas, but they say we'll get 2-4 inches of ice and snow and it will only get up to 36 tomorrow. I have a feeling school will be cancelled since the buses can't run on the ice. Hang in there.

I'm in the same boat. My T had to cancel a week ago and looks like we will have to cancel our joint session tomorrow. Guess it depends on how much snow we really get.

We're in a lull at the moment, but it still hasn't completely moved in. Supposed to pick up in about an hour according to everything I'm seeing forecased/radars, etc.

Neither my t nor I skype, so that's out.

The funny thing is, we live about 3 miles from each other, but her office is about 15 miles south, mostly on elevated freeways. The bulk of the weather hasn't moved in yet, and I'm just hoping we get less ice than predicted, or that it melts quicker than expected. Of course, if the schools close, I'm not sure if she'll want to leave her son home alone.

I know there's not much I can do except just see what happens. I just needed to complain about it to folks that would understand how frustrating this is.

Sigh, T's son's school district just canceled...pretty sure that means a phone session. I might see if t has any openings for Monday and just cancel tomorrow.

I am sorry. I am not really attached to my therapist, but I do like her. I haven't been able to get to a session since early January. I hope you can go or have a good phone session. I hate talking on the phone and would really struggle with that type of session.
Thanks for this!

I'm not "attached" to my T in the sense of attachement as used on this forum. When I say I adore her, I mean that she's someone I respect and find helpful and am inspired by. She's an excellent T.

She emailed me this morning suggesting that at a minimum we do a phone check-in at my regularly scheduled appointment time. If I want a full phone session, I can have it and if I don't, we can talk about other options.
