Finally contacted my counselor after five months. Requested to work with someone else because he was amazingly useless.

Good for you! I'm glad you are advocating yourself I hope your new therapist connects with you and is better than your old one.

I'm expecting nothing, however. Pretty cynical about this whole institution after my previous (and first) psych put me so strongly off therapy.

I hope you find one who is better... there are alot of crappy ones out there.

Is it a good idea to ask for his help in getting a new T?
Maybe crappy T's hang out with other crappy T's

Well the counseling services are offered through my university so he is the most logical point of contact to request another therapist there.
