T and I have been emailing back and forth about some things I've been trying to process from our last session. I didn't really think about the way I worded something, and now he's concerned I could be in danger of hurting myself. Now, I don't know how to make him understand that is not at all what I meant by what I said. Doh!!!

Can you send him another email, let him know that you are safe and have not intention of harming yourself, and you'll see him ... (day, date and time of next appointment?

I left a weekend voicemail, a very weak rant for my standby therapist, but I got an email on Monday saying she had been trying to call me to make sure I was okay. I was flabbergasted, because nothing in the call even hinted of being in physical danger.

Sometimes, they just need reassurance.

I sent him an email back and told him I was not in any danger, and I did not mean to word what I said the way I did. He hasn't responded. I just don't want him to think I'm just trying to pretend like I'm ok. I hope he believes me!

I'm glad you did that. It's a work day and he may not have gotten to your messages yet. If there is a way to call and leave a voicemail I would do that also. That gives him more info to make a decision on.

Try not to worry.

If your therapist is half-way decent, he will believe in you.
