![]() Ever so often, I google the name of the previous psychiatrist who exploited me. His medical license was revoked in two states. Today I find he is listed as a "trusted medical professional" on an online therapy web site. The home state of this website is one of the states his license was revoked. He is listed as Dr. (His name.) I have checked that state's medical board...his license is still revoked. He can't legally portray himself as an M.D. on an online medical site, can he? |

He can still call himself "Dr." and he still has an M.D. because those are his educational credentials. However, he cannot practice medicine in a state where his license has been revoked. So, if he is advertising himself as a practicing psychiatrist (rather than just some kind of "consultant") then that is illegal. He can use his knowledge to teach, advise, consult, etc.-- but he cannot practice medicine.

Can you drop and email to the website and let them know? Just so they are aware?

Yes, I sent the web site an email telling them about this guy just a few minutes before I posted this thread.

I think that is all you can do but it may be enough! I would have too!

If I could remember all the details of what happened to me (and the six other women who came forward) - in a sane way....I would write a book. You can't make this crap up.

(((Precaryous))) Thanks for reporting this to the website. I hate to think this guy is out there with access to more people, posing a professional when his license has been revoked.
The website really should be doing a better job screening doctors though, that's just scary. ![]() |

Did he convince you to be with him intimately? When you were vulnerable? I am glad he lost his license

Later, he told me he was intimate with me because he felt sorry for me...like he feels sorry for homeless "street people." He lied to the police and to our attorneys saying I was a "known prostitute." I felt so bad...it surprises me I am still alive. I still have PTSD, flashbacks and intrusive thoughts. I'm still figuring out the details of what happened to me. I could write more...but maybe will stop for now. -------- Stopdog, if you ever want more information about the deceitful practices of some therapists and their attorneys, how they blame the victim, how they throw paperwork at the victim, how they take the drivers license away from the victim so she can't attend any depositions- good therapy/or see their lawyer,.... what other kinds of delaying tactics they can use, I'm probably the survivor to do it. |

I am so sorry. I hope I didn't trigger anything by asking, I didn't know anyone could do such a thing. Oh who am I kidding, there a lot of evil bastards out there. Divine,
No, no, you didn't trigger anything. This topic comes up for me once in a while and I have been dealing with fragments of it for a couple of weeks. It actually helps me to write about it sometimes. |

Good job. I been abused before and sometimes look up old T too, still goes with the "dr" as well. But I don't have the guts to do it, or maybe just triggers me. I saw the site with old T's name and all that crap, then looked away trying to forget my past...but I like what you did, that's nice, you help future patients.

Precaryous - I was abused by a past Psychiatrists as well - he isolated and emotionally manipulated me and a lot of other patients, before gradually sexualising therapy an then instigating a sexual relationship (some patients he actually just went ahead a raped while he had them under sedation). I was lucky in that I managed to get away from him before it got to the point of intercourse taking place, but it still screwed me up in terms of trust issues and panic responses towards other Psychiatrists (my current Psychiatrist stuck with me all through those fears and issues until I did trust him, and I'm glad he did because it's good to know there are decent Psychiatrist's out there).
Speaking of good Psychiatrist's, I'm also in contact with a number of decent and ethical Pdocs in the US. If you want I could ask them what else can be done about this creep who abused you if they're now trying to advertise their services in any capacity whilst having their license revoked. You might be able to report them to somewhere and get further restrictions placed on them, of have them fined, or something (I'm not sure, I'm in Australia so I'm not sure about US law).

Hi. willowbrook,
I'm sorry you went through this, too. Such a kind and helpful offer! Thank you! I am kind of in an inbetween place right now...not feeling my best. I will need to think about it. I have already reported him to Medicare and Medical...they revoked him..making it impossible for him to take payment from these insurances. I reported him to the Medical Board of California. They revoked his medical license. He had another medical license in New York. It is outrageous that the medical boards do not automatically report their revocations to the other states. I had to report him to the New York Medical Board, myself. They revoked his NY license one year after he was revoked in California. They wouldn't have known to do that unless someone (me) brought it to their attention. Curiously, I could not find a medical license for him in the state where he went to medical school. I have not checked all fifty states. I am appalled that he can offer his "medical advice" online in any capacity, especially using his credentials as "Dr." It's a scary world out there. You guys be careful. |

We all appreciate what you do for all of us by continuously reporting him. I bet you he feels no remorse or he would never offer consultation services. He would completely switch his profession.
Somehow it really sickened me that he claimed you were a prostitute. Like that an excuse! So if prostitute (not you of course but in general) came to a psychiatrist for services it would be ok to solicit her for sex? Sick I don't believe in hell but listen stories like this I do hope there is one. You stay strong the way u are and thank you for protecting us from people like him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

He did his best to discredit me..who is going to believe a "dangerous prostitute" and mental patient?
The medical boards believed *me*, ...but..the deputy attorney general decided not to try the cases due to lack of evidence although I can identify his genital area (there were three of us-plus four other people who came forward, seven all together that I heard about).....my civil case went on for more than two years and eventually failed because he did not have malpractice insurance. It is not against the law for doctors to practice without malpractice insurance. He hid his assets through his wife's family, so we could not attach those, either. |
