How can my therapist refuse to see me after a year or so of seeing her? She knew how devastated my life has been suffering with multiple mental illnesses since age 6, I am now almost 55. I don't think that I can ever trust anyone again, and I am so afraid I am headed to a complete nervous breakdown.

(((Homebody))) I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Did she say *why* she wasn't able to see you anymore? Did she give you any referrals for new therapists to see?

There are a lot of us here who have gone through similar circumstances. It really sucks, and I'm sorry that you're dealing with it now too .

I hope you can find a T better suited to you. How awful for this T to act in such a way to you. Soup

Sorry for the heartbreak you're going through. Unfortunately there's not enough details to offer an opinion... but I can offer thoughts and cyber hugs.

Welcome here homebody5460,

I am so sorry your therapist is refusing to see you. Rejection hurts. I can understand how it would be difficult to trust again. It is totally up to you if you decide to try to find another therapist.

Feel free to post again if You find it helpful.

I'm so sorry your therapist is doing this to you. Did she give you an explanation?

^This. It's one thing to say "I can no longer see you because [whatever], but here are some other therapists who might work for you." It's a whole other thing to just refuse to see someone again without explanation.
Thanks for this!
