I like to watch Master Chef and there is a contestant on there now that looks and has the same mannerisms as my formal wonderful T for 6+ years. Well my husband keeps saying something negative about her because she lacks confidence and then I jump on my husband telling him to be nice to her because I bet she is a very nice lady.

Well you are very creative to instill the qualities of the contestant with the qualities of our former T. Your husband may not understand, so maybe silence is the best policy.
But I understand. You really loved your T. She must have been remarkable.

I see my first T in Carl Rogers. I think I make the connection both because he has some similar mannerisms and also because T1 introduced me to Carl Rogers's work.
There is one video on YouTube of Carl Rogers closely connecting with his client, holding hands and completely with her in the moment (I think it's called sylvia-self acceptance or something) and I can't watch it because it makes me sad and jealous because I so wanted that kind of physical contact with him and never got it. |

I will have to check it out! I love Carl Rogers and what he did for therapy. The best T's I have had were humanitarian.
