This is more of a simple question than it is a thread starter. It seems like someone had a great descriptive phrase about the how she/he felt in the first hour or two after a therapy session (it was a positive feeling). I really liked it at the time and wish I could remember. Does anyone recall that?
Today I felt like I was in a fog, but a great fog, more like floating in the clouds. I want those other words though, lol

I assume you're asking about positive feelings. I've felt warm and fuzzy in the couple hours after meeting with my marriage counselor. He just brings about those feelings in me.
Thanks for this!

With exT I used to leave her office and sob all day until I got a migraine and fell asleep. I didn't realize that wasn't normal.

I can feel any number of ways:
heavy, down in the dumps
light as a feather, refreshed
confused
hopeful
indifferent

Until I got the woman to stop talking, I left in a frustrated rage. Now I leave neutral.

I sometimes have days where I walk out feeling worse, but mostly it's because I'm anxious about something I said. After sessions I usually feel good for a few days and then the negative feelings will set in until the day I see my t.

I usually leave feeling preoccupied...thinking...processing what we talked about..what she said. Therapy brings up a lot of different thoughts and emotions for me.

I don't know why I am so preoccupied with T and issues?
Thanks for this!

In the past I have left a session feeling good because the session went well and I feel connected to my T and got to say what was needed. Then there are times I leave a session and get "therapy depression" and feel awful because the session did not go as planned and my connection to my T was not as strong.

I usually leave feeling stronger and more centered. My counselor has a way of calming my fears.

I've read comments on pc that refer to "therapy hangover" although, to me, that doesn't have a positive connotation. Could that be what you're thinking of, only it seemed pleasant by the way it was described?

That's how I left most of my sessions too. The processing usually lasted a couple of days, and it would bring up all kinds of emotions, depending on what we talked about.

I feel lonely, down, stressed, tired, hazy, heavy or pensive after any given session. I very rarely leave feeling good. Don't know what that's all about but it is consistent. Takes a couple of days to get over.
