Sometimes I just think about her voice musing in my head, talking to me. It is calm, nonjudgmental, young, well-versed, light-hearted. Anyone else love their therapist's voice?

I like my T's voice. But my pdoc's voice is really wonderful. His voice is so nice and calm. I could listen to it all day long.

I generally don't find sounds comforting, so no. But I think I am unusual in that.

I didn't like my T's voice at all at first (though I liked him). I wouldn't say I love his voice, but it grew on me.

I used to think my T's voice was too old ladyish. Now that I know her, I find her voice comforting, compassionate and warm. It's heavenly!

T1s voice made me melt. I found it beautiful and immensely soothing. I miss it so much. My new T sounds a bit like David Mitchell, the comedian (for anyone who's heard of him) and that really does nothing for me. Yeah, I miss T1's voice a lot.

There was nothing out of this world about my old-T's voice. I feel like your T would be great at ASMR lol

Nope, not really. I like it more when she's quiet. But I love how she smells.

Yes! I love my T's voice so much. Its so comforting and loving. I could listen to her talk forever. She made a recording for me to help me and so that I can listen to her voice anytime I want. I also record our sessions so I listen to her talk for hours on end. Her voice puts me at ease.
Thanks for this!

I liked hearing my ex-therapist's voice, but now the thought of it makes me feel sick.

My T and I once joked about how she had a "therapy voice" and a normal voice. It wasn't strange or awkward or anything but when things would get serious or intense her voice/tone would change to the "therapy voice". I guess just a softer, slower sound. But it was great bc it was very calm and gentle. Then for casual conversation and such it was her "normal voice" but it was still really calm and non threatening. I spoke to her on the phone before meeting her and was actually really surprised at what she looked like...for some reason based on her voice I was expecting someone different I guess...
I think a therapists tone can be really important and convey a lot of meaning sometimes.

Yes. There's something calm in to me to hear her voice, even on voicemail. It's all like "it's okay fadedstar, I'm here you don't have to do this all alone."

I try not to pay attention to it a whole lot because I can't tell if it's practiced or genuine. It's not syrupy though, which I would hate. Just more of a professional calm--not cold, but not gooey either.

The one before her, though...holy chit. She sounded like a serial killer--very measured and monotone. I hated her voice. I think she thought she was being soothing, based on comments about herself, but it was actually kind of chilling.
