I could never eat breakfast before therapy. I would feel sick if I did.

No, but I can quite see why people might be sick - it is a hard thing to do.

I threw up every week for the first couple of years. Now it is more intermittent.

I force myself to eat something otherwise my stomach will growl super loud during the entire session, without fail. So embarrassing, and disruptive!
Thanks for this!

Yeah, that's normal before and after therapy as well. Sometimes the session kills your appetite.

For a session with T only a little bit.
For an appointment with Pdoc a lot. I can't eat anything on that day until it's over.

I have evening appointments and I used to get terrible, ah, gastrointestinal symptoms, all day before I went. I was in the bathroom constantly.

I'm a very long-term client and it did resolve as I learned to feel safe with my T. Now I get a nervous stomach but not the same kind of stomach distress I started with.

i don't feel sick, but always very, very anxious. i stress and overstress about how i look knowing i'll be the focal point for an hour, and i always need a drink or two to relax before i go.

With my first therapist, yes. I was always so anxious before each appointment that i got sick. I was so afraid of what she would say or do or change that day.

Nervous, not sick. I could feel sick afterwards, when it was a really tough session.

Not really but I don't really feel sick whenever I'm nervous or anxious. When I first started, I would shiver in the waiting room even though I was wearing pants and a sweatshirt so it wasn't because I was cold. Last week I actually found myself shivering again but I think part of it was that the AC was blasting in the waiting room. I had just come back from a two week vacation so it was probably some anxiety/excitement as well.

With my first T, I had some GI issues before every session. I always knew that at least once a week I'd be "regular" hahaha. The first year or so was extreme nausea too, which sucked. I never threw up.

With this T, I have been nervous, but I don't know if its because the experience is so different or that I walk there and have time to relax before the appointment (on saturday), but the level of nervousness is wayyyyy down. I can eat beforehand, and don't have any GI symptoms. Very interesting.
