I've lived in three coutries: France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

There is universal healthcare in those countries (which I'm immensely grateful for whenever I read about Americans being denied basic healthcare) but when it comes to therapy, you're mostly on your own and it's out of pocket for the most part. I mean, unless you're suicidal and you've been hospitalized and are therefore given free therapy, if you want therapy you're going to have to pay for it.

I got 5 (yes 5!) free therapy sessions and that was it. I guess they assume that 5 sessions is enough or something. It's ridiculous.
On the other hand, my meds are very well reimbursed. I pay a tenth of what I would normally pay if I was charged the full price. So that's something.
Thanks for this!
