Some of both. If it is something we have discussed in the past she may check in to see where I stand on it. Often she will tell me that she will check in periodically on the issue. There have been a couple of times I felt we needed to discuss but I couldn't bring up the subject so I emailed her and asked if she could bring up the topic in our next session. Regardless of how the topic is brought up if I get to the point that I need to change the subject I just recently got to the point where I could say so. She is always more than willing to discuss something else.
