Have any of you had success at short-term group therapy? CBT-style.

Thanks

Hello RamblinClementine: Unfortunately I can't really address your specific question. All I can say is that I did participate in some short-term group therapy when I was in a partial hospital program a few years ago. I never thought I would want to participate in a group therapy type of situation. However, I really quite enjoyed being in the one I did participate in.

It's CBT so give it a whirl.

I did CBT group therapy in the trauma hospital. It was some of the best therapy I've ever received.

I do confess, I am a HUGE supporter of CBT. If I had a nearby CBT group, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

I have done group therapy in which it lasted one year. It was for people with Personality disorders. It was very structured.
