Hi everyone,
Was wondering about anyone's favorite books with characters in therapy? There are actually a lot out there and I like the teen fiction ones but that's just me I love reading teen realistic fiction.
Scars by Sheryl Rainfield
Deals with a girl who cuts, therapist handlesutting and PTSD very well. As well as sexual abuse.
Running for my Life I think by Ann Gonzaliz
Deals with a girl who also has PTSD from being abused by her schizophrenic mother. Again awesome therapist.
Wrecked by E.R Frank
A girl is in a car accident and gets EMDR therapy which they go into detail on, the only book I've seen that does.
Pritty Girl 13
A girl with dissociative identity disorder. Her therapist is good but this weird science fiction procedure is used that through some neurological science deletes alters completely rather than intigrating or working with them in other ways. Could be triggering to DID systems.
That's all I can think of for now.
Thoughts?
