Omg, like grandma got run over by a reindeer! Please be careful, you could have injured your spleen or something and not know it. Are you going to the dr?

Thanks, unaluna. I did go to the doctor actually. I bruised some stuff (the most painful of which is my diaphragm), but nothing is life threatening. I was a bit more concerned about the ringing in my ears. Luckily I was wearing a helmet, so again, nothing life threatening.
Thanks for this!

Happy Friday! Sitting in T's waiting room.. Enjoying the calm after manning the school bookfair this week and before the craziness of tech week for daughter's nutcracker show! Ahhhh! I hope all is well with everyone.

35 more minutes and I am off for a week!! Yahoo!!

We finally managed to get my husband in to see the new primary care physician. We had to switch because our usual doctor has been on leave for a family medical emergency. We were very pleased to find this new doctor; we like him. And, as a bonus, he has agreed to manage my husband's psych meds which will save my husband the long drive into the city for appointments. He just physically can't do much driving any more. His mood has been stable for a long while now and his meds aren't complicated, so this should work well. All of his doctors are now right here in our town. Hallelujah! It has been about 6 months of change-overs in his doctors because he's a complicated case, but I think we finally have it all in place. His health is just pretty awful now. I get up and drive him to work about 4:45 every morning and pick him up in the afternoon after I get off (it's a 70 mile round trip that I make 2 times a day). He really needs to go on disability, but in order to even begin to qualify he would have to not be working for a period of time and we can't afford that scenario quite yet (hopefully come summer that will change). It's a catch-22 right now. He can work, just barely and he makes very little money, but it is just above the income limit for consideration for disability.

On another front: my son's audition went well. Two judges placed him 1st and 2nd chair; the other three had him a bit lower. It was a tight competition between 15 very talented young men. He ended up being an alternate which he describes as being in limbo. He has to prepare for the next stage in auditions in the case that someone else backs out. He may not end up auditioning at all in which case all the prep work is for nought;however, if he doesn't prepare and ends up able to audition but hasn't prepared he'll be kicking himself for missing the opportunity to make the all-state choir. Limbo. Is that one of Dante's circles of Hell?

He and I are going on a mother/son date tomorrow to see Mockingjay, Part 2. The others in the family aren't big fans of the series, but Ian and I have read them all several times and kind of started this tradition of going to the movies together a few movies back. It will be fun; we both need some down time.

We've decided we are eating out for Thanksgiving. None of us are big turkey lovers and we decided we'd rather let someone else do the cooking. We'll do desserts, etc. at the house. We'll probably decorate for Christmas this week. I'm ready for a little Christmas.

My oldest's fiance asked my husband to walk her down the aisle when the big day ever comes. That was pretty special for him. We took her in a few years ago when her own parents pretty much stopped being there for her. They are in the area but just completely uninvolved. It's a shame; she's a sweet girl and a hard worker. They are missing out. Glad we can be there for her.

I have had thanksgiving dinner for the same group of friends (mostly - we have had some loss over the years) for over 25 years now. I have it down to just the dishes we all really like now. Some go on to their families who are in town so I don't have to plan 15 different special likes.
But I don't really like turkey much either - I don't find it hard to cook a turkey and in fact I think it is probably the easiest part of the meal -I just don't like it much. I send most of the leftovers home with my friends.

The only time I had turkey was when I was a teen and we went to this really swanky club with my mums friend and I had a Turkey Reubens. I thought the turkey was a bit dry.

Just before i went into ts today, i got a voicemail from my brother moving our estate appointment from next week into december. I walked into ts all smiles! I remember how my dad used to grin like that once in a while. Boy poor guy he never got away from my mom. Then i walked halfway home from ts. The first half is flat or downhill going home, then flat or uphill the 2nd half. Anyway, reprieve!

Therapy today. T asks,

"...is there a possibility that you experienced some symptoms of Asperger's syndrome as a child (they are not outwardly evident now but could have affected your perceptions especially during the developmental years). "

Asperger's- I don't know the symptoms of Asperger's?

It would explain a lot if it is true.
I've looked up Asperger's but there is so much information. Overwhelming. Can anyone point me to a good web site that explains Asperger's symptoms..or other information?

Whew!! (Tumbles onto couch and puts my feet up) It's Friday night and my week of working Abay (the newbies first week on the phones at work) is done! I wonder how many miles I walked this week, going around answering questions the newbies had.... my pedometer went through the washer and doesn't work anymore, or else I'd have kept track of my steps. I am having a well-earned (large) glass of wine to celebrate. I am also celebrating my really good t session yesterday. I'm finishing up my last bottle of Moscato, and shall be going wine shopping tomorrow to check out the ideas I've gotten for my next-step-up-from-Moscato.

In other news, I'm still waiting for my lap top to be fixed. The computer guy has already replaced the hard drive, but now he's waiting on a new fan for it. Should have it back soon! Hopefully before my trip back to my brother's for the holiday.

Happy weekend, couchies!

Someone help me....these parents of my daughters friend, I was trying to explain that there was no Christmas before Christ and the first record of christmas was in 336 AD. I'm not even christian and knew more about it than these people... I am so glad I don't have prolonged contact with these people. Maybe they are jerks...

If you look in the Aspie forum they have a sticky with resources or maybe CE will know.

Have you called an ambulance? Any sort of chest pain should be checked out.

I'm pretty sure it's a misplaced rib. Happens a lot, due to past trauma. I hate it when it's on the left side, at least the right side my anxiety isn't as nearly as high. Just weird and painful, it's not the usual rib so it caught me off guard.
