I think the difficulty in answering the question though is what kind of work is being discussed? That's why I ultimately selected other because he does do work, and I do think the existence of a T in his chair is important. It doesn't have to be *him* necessarily (though I like working with him) but I do think that, for what I'm trying to do, a T (who meets certain qualifications and has a generally decent work ethic) is necessary.

Does that make sense? I also overthink things.

My private therapist has been helpful. She's a relational therapist, so she's all about how emotional well-being depends on having fulfilling mutual relationships with others. She's attentive and very kind, so I feel comfortable with her and therefore it is easy to talk.

My therapist at university (my mentor), however, has absolutely transformed me and my life, and continues to do so. She's an integrative therapist, so she tailors her approach to individual clients, combining different therapy approaches and therapeutic techniques. Within a few sessions she had identified all of my destructive scripts, and pointed out just how much I abuse myself and self-sabotage. She was able to read me with terrifying accuracy. She was able to ascertain rather quickly the fact that I was someone she could "push" towards realisations and growth, and that I would benefit greatly from it. She wasn't/isn't afraid to give me "tough love". But she's also very caring and nurturing, and we've developed a deep connection of what feels like mutual love (though it certainly also involves a considerable amount of transference and counter-transference). She has shown me such incredible compassion, and I have learned so much about myself from working with her (things that I needed someone to point out to me!), and without her I think I would still be stuck banging my head against a wall. I've used the word "revolutionising" to describe how much she has helped me change for the better.
