I changed the time of my T appointments and now my T is in a different room the session right before me so we moved into that room. She has a couple right before me and this other room has a bigger couch so I think that's why she was in there. I want to go back to our usual room but I don't know if that is a weird request...My appointment time is 8p and there are no other therapists there at that time so the room is definitely available. Our usual room is smaller and there isn't a coffee table in the way so it feels more intimate.

Would it be weird for me to request the other room? If not, should I ask her a day before over email or just ask when she greets me in the waiting room?

I don't think it's weird, but I'd ask beforehand. There might be some reason she can't switch it during a session - cleaning crew, needs the key, interoffice politics, what have you.
Thanks for this!

I definitely don't think it's weird. My T and I had to meet in another T's office one time, and it made the whole session feel off (the guy had a really bad layout in his office, like anti-feng shui, and T commented on it, too). But do give her advance notice.
Thanks for this!

I think it's very normal to want your usual room, it can feel uncomfortable or weird to change the room. Hopefully your T will say yes!
Thanks for this!
