What a strange session today!!
I always wonder what CBT's life is like at home and wonder if what goes on in the room is partly "his stuff" influencing the mood of the conversation. I have been discussing pressure, deadlines and a burnout work situation. I can't tell if he is really just eager to help me and any negativity from me makes him feel judged? I know I have a negative bias, being wired for rejection really. So I will ask him "did you mean x?" just to be sure he isn't being mean to me in some way--I just need reassurance often. I think this drives him crazy. I often wonder if his wife is a real nag. Because that's how he responds to me sometimes when I'm just asking a clarifying question. Today, after telling him something about work he startled me by turning bright red. Holy moly what did I say to make him flush like a chameleon?? I felt alarmed. I don't know if he was angry for me or at me. Or maybe he farted silently I have no idea what that was about. Sometimes his nervous energy is a bit too twitchy for me. I really like him and he is really helpful . Any thoughts on the above are welcome. If your T has acted strangely I would love to hear about it and if you found out why. |

I would not assume you did anything. He could have had a medication kick in, his thoughts could have lead him someplace away from what you were saying, or some other thing completely unrelated to anything you did. Could you just ask him about it the next time it happens? Call him on it.

Hot flash?
![]() Ask him about it if he does it again. I am someone who isn't aware of when she blushes or turns red, so he might not know he did that, but he'll know what he was feeling that caused it. |

Was your session in the morning? Just curious, as a fidgety person w/ADHD who often gets a little toasty after her stimulant kicks in.

Yes, it was first thing in the morning. I didn't think of that possibility-thanks!
To me, it it just one of his quirks. He is a likable and charming fellow really, as much as I tease on here. |

I like the fart option but I am guessing it was something else
![]() Sounds like your t is going through something that is impacting your time together. I think you hit the nail on the head with his reaction towards you. Perhaps it is some sort of transference reaction caused by his nagging wife or his mommy issues, either way it's unacceptable behaviour, especially if it's a fart. Silent but violents are the worst!
