Hi,
I have problems with procrastination, I've been going to therapy 5 times doing it every once a week, and the last session is quite a "disaster", basically this is what I caught from her words is she frustrated because I made no progress and constantly debating her.
Her homework to me is to make a daily schedule, usually I made it and everything is fine for 3 days after that I start procrastinating again

should I switch therapist ? she seems don't have any alternative method to offer or should I try harder ?

I would try out some other ones. I don't pay a therapist to deal with them becoming frustrated at me.

We all get frustrated in relationships, it's part of being human, but a therapist showing that frustration and putting the cause of it on you, the client, is ridiculous! She can deal with her "frustrations" in her own therapy. Once a therapist gets into long winded "debates" or arguments with the client, they are in trouble and not very effective therapeutically. She sounds poorly trained and a bit short on patience and/or curiosity about what's going on with you around the procrastination issue. Maybe if she spent more time listening to you and exploring what's going on around the procrastination, she wouldn't be so quick to become frustrated. I'd suggest taking a few new therapists for a "test drive" and she if you can find a better fit.
Thanks for this!

It is easier for you to get a new therapist than for an old therapist to come up with new ideas.

Has there been any exploration in your therapy around the meaning and consequences of your procrastination tendency? What you describe (homework, making schedules, etc) sounds like CBT. I wonder if maybe it would help to better understand why it is you procrastinate, when and what you're more likely to procrastinate, and what happens when you do procrastinate as well as when you don't. If telling you to make and follow a schedule and getting frustrated at you is all this therapist has to offer, it sounds like she doesn't know her job well enough to adapt to your needs and offer alternative treatment plans if this one thing d oesn't work.

I agree with Jaybird: your therapist can deal with her frustration in her own therapy with her own therapist.
She doesn't get to be frustrated with you. I don't believe clients can disappoint or frustrate therapists. They have their own rythm, their own pace and a therapist has to respect that.
Why not talk to her about this? And if all else fails, then switch therapists.
Thanks for this!
