This is basically an outline of my therapy from 2 years ago. A lot more happened as well, but everything you mention applies. When this happens, seems to me the therapist is no longer a therapist. They are now a client seeking gratification of their needs, even if in a less overt way than the paying client.

I think it is not unlike doctors, especially surgeons, who have a "god complex" because they can take away a patient's physical pain.
