Welcome to the couch! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't. See below for a reintroduction to what the couch is...

---------

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out of the woodwork if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented. We try to be supportive. Sometimes we discuss what that means.

Its a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("t") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if its a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Long couches - all that means it that more people squeeze on. Ack.
Club chairs placed an appropriate distance apart = a good plan.

I'm learning things about myself that are out of the norm of what "I'm supposed to be". I love non-fiction, and documentaries. I was always taught they were stupid but I can't get enough.

I love the intro Ellahmae. For those of us who sometimes need stuff explained/reassured it's good to have that clarity. Especially as there's a lot of new peeps around the boards recently.

I just spoke to my grandmother on the phone. She sounded really, really bad/sad/depressed. I talked to my parents - they say that's unusual. (they know her better than I do) So my dad is probably going to stop by this evening. I'm really worried about her.

I borrowed some of unalunas wording from a couch a long, long time ago - but there have been a lot of new people around the boards and last couch there were some that were confused so we thought a new deeper explanation was necessary.

Thanks! I tend to lean on the arm of the couch and then run away again - I have social anxiety about being in a group, even the virtual couch can trigger it. I appreciate the welcome

I already put a whoopie cushion on SD's chair...and the glass of scotch at her elbow is a dribble glass...shhh!

Cold, very windy, very rainy, no sun...you'd think you lived in Scotland or something.

Nooooooo! Not the scotch! [Maybe even Stopdog would think dribbling good scotch deserves an exclamation point.]

I'm about to have a mini-breakdown right in the middle of work. Today is SO stressful. I'll be fine if I can get in to talk to my sup this afternoon. I've asked for a meeting. The calls don't let up, everyone is pissed, problems and complications on every call, plus I'm all emotional anyway. Some days I really really hate this job. Usually i don't but when it's stressful, it's too stressful. One of my friends had her blood pressure checked on her break an it was 145/100. I'd hate to see mine today. This 5 minute handle time they are shoving down our throats is impossible if they want us to do all the things they require on each call. I need to get out of call center work. I am too old for this ****.

Hi Couchies!

So, this happened:
I had my pre-surgical blood testing done a few days ago. The ENT's nurse called me yesterday and said my PTT (it measures bleeding time) was too high. She had me repeat the test today. If it remains elevated, they want me to go to a hematologist. Surgery would be delayed.

It's almost silly. I originally went to the ENT last month just to get a new hearing aid. Now all this.

What would make ones PTT be elevated? Hmm.

Hopefully, it's just a lab error.
