I have told both my Ts what my goal is and nothing came out of it if not one of them reminding me to proceed step by step with mini goals first. the other one was so absorbed in doing her therapy that just didnt care to answer.

how do you make "i want to find a reason to wanting to live" in pieces?

No need to make it in pieces or to make anything in pieces. Finding a reason to live is a deeply spiritual subject and should be discussed with a lot of seriousness and mindfulness in therapy. If you struggle to find a reason to live, just tell your therapist about it and, hopefully, he'll be up to the task of diving into this deep subject. If you feel like you need to break your major goal into mini-goals and want your T to be more actively involved in this process, again, tell him about it. If he doesn't seem interested and doesn't respond to your satisfaction, consider working with someone else.

To recognize maladaptive behaviour patterns that you might not be aware of, then by becoming aware of them, you can choose differently and create a new life. People just live their lives on repeat, recreating past behaviours/traumas etc. with new people. They tend to have the same problems over and over again because they don't recognize the behaviour pattern. Once you see the pattern, you are able to create a new behaviour.
Awareness is the point of therapy.

I thought therapy could help me find a reason to live, but it has not; in fact, at one point, my therapist said it wasn't something therapy could help with. She was right. For me, any way.

This sort of awareness can be had without therapy… insight or mindfulness based meditation, other spiritual practice, reading books on psychology, self-therapy, etc.

Seems one of the core messages of our healthcare culture is that we must outsource everything to a doctor or therapist. It's certainly an option, but then you run the risk of creating a population of infantilized dependents. And with therapy you also risk much more, re-traumatizing and messy emotional entanglements and abuses of power.
