I get loads of free scones at a café I go to the day before my session, so I brought him some one week, and he took them and thanked me
Thanks for this!

No, but I would. We work on my eating so she'd probably be happy.

Ex T offered me a piece of cake she had made before I showed up. For me, eating in front of someone is hugely intimate. Especially something they made. It took a huge amount of trust but I did it.

She dumped me as a client the following week!

No, but T and I have eaten snacks that he offered during session. I was usually his last appointment of the day and we were both in need of sustenance at that point in our day.
Thanks for this!

T and I both have misophonia (hatred of certain sounds which, when triggered can cause you to fly into a fit of rage or worse) and chewing is our worst trigger. As an unwritten rule, food is banned from her office!

No food, but I'm a little neurotic about my drink. I have to have something to drink.

I have brought chocolates to eat together with my therapist on my birthday a couple of times. I also gave my therapist chocolate as a gift quite a few times. One time i had some groceries in my handbag but I didn't eat it there, just didn't have time to take it home before therapy..

I don't take food for many reasons - If I had to eat, I would do it in the car on the way over -but usually I can wait 50 minutes to eat, I have no desire to eat with the woman, I don't usually take in anything to drink because I can go 50 minutes without becoming dehydrated (I took in tea once when I was laboring under really bad allergies and coughing a lot), people eating is a noise I dislike, food would be way too informal for me - I expect a certain level of formality to be observed.

After two sessions in a row where I heard my T's stomach growling, I almost brought in a granola bar for her. I mentioned this the third time, she said "Thank you that's kind" and I noticed I never heard it again.

Timing is amazing on this tread..

I made muffins Wednesday morning, and took two to my therapist on Thursday, and the muffins and the backstory of their existence was a topic of conversation for much of the session.

And I keep having this desire to bring Chinese Food to share during a session, don't think that would be as well received as the muffins were, even though she knows about this thought and where it comes from (an episode of "Mad About You").

All the time. I have trouble remembering to eat or am often starving by the time I get to my therapist's office in the evenings. If I don't bring something, he'll usually ask me if I want any of his own personal snacks and he fixes up a plate for me. I appreciate it, even though I just pick at it like a bird (I get anxious when eating in front of him).

Me too! And sometimes I have two drinks--iced tea or something else caffeinated, plus water. No food though.

My usual meal is rice with liquidy lentils eaten using just my hands.

My therapist is the epitome of prim-and-proper who operates out of a subletted office that seems to be sprayed with some eye-watering-ly strong scent (perfume or something).

So, while I haven't actually eaten anything in therapy as yet, I am tempted to do it now -- looks like there's potential for a therapeutic breakthrough.

No, but T once gave me a cookie when I hadn't had a chance to eat all day before our 6PM appointment, and I was full-on hangry.

I gave her a piece of apple pie at our last session.

Other than that time I never eat food during therapy. I do have water sometimes and T usually has a glass of water for herself.
When I was in group therapy we were never allowed to take food into group sessions. The reason they gave was that some clients use food as a distraction.
Thanks for this!

Are smoothies food? Yes if so.

I feel uncomfortable gifting food since many people I know have food restrictions so have not brought anything for my therapist.

I have never brought any food. I sometimes have a bottle of water with me. Sometimes when I talk for a long time my throat goes dry.
