I get super antsy before therapy. I'll have a nice agenda set and written up but once I get there I am too nervous to ask my therapist to please address the items I have put on the agenda and we get off track. I'm sure our conversations are useful in some way but I have some things I want to talk about. What can I do? 😞

Maybe journal about what you want to talk about and show her the entries?

Hello Ellie_jo: Could you write your T a letter regarding what you've written here? You could either mail it, or perhaps drop it off prior to your next appointment.

Just wanted to say good luck for your session; I get anxious beforehand as well.

I know that feeling well, it is very hard. After 5 months I finally told her about this and she suggested I could email her before the session with the things I wanted to bring up and that way she could help me out during the session. If I had changed my mind I could always tell her, or in my case just shut down and she would get the message eventually!!

I used to get super nervous about therapy too. I don't anymore. I don't know why.
