Hi all,

T and I made a plan to see each other fortnightly as I needed the extra support. At the end of March we pushed it out to three weeks due to scheduling. That session went well but after I was only able to get another appointment in a month.

I was fine at first but after a few days I got really angry and upset about the break. I've been thinking about a lot of things about therapy will have kinda upset me. Now I'm a complete mess!

I really don't want to call as I hate contacting between session as I feel really over the top. I kinda think it might be best to address the rupture in person. But it's another 2 and a half weeks until our session.

To call or not to call that is the question?

Does your therapist have a cancellation list? If so, I would try to get on it. That way you could discuss this sooner in person.

I like seoultous's idea. Also, I'm not one to advocate contacting Ts outside of therapy without good reason, but I think yours is a good one! I bet your T would rather deal with something like this sooner rather than once it's festered longer.

I definitely agree about trying a cancellation list to see her sooner.

I would call. The longer you sit on it, the worse it will become.

If it's going to continue to eat away at you then you should go ahead and make the call. Why let it keep you a mess if you don't have to. Good luck!

A month is aing time to hold something that's bugging you, if it were me I know my T would rather I contacted her and we could work out together how best to deal with it.
Thanks for this!

I think that's the down side of not seeing T on a regular time slot. Things are left hanging. You could ring, but it's best worked out in person.

How attached are you? If you are not very attached to this therapist, maybe you coukd find someone more accessible.

There is a cancellation list but unfortunately my t is only there two days a week and I work so it's difficult to get a cancelled appt.

I am very attached I thinks that's partly why I'm so devastated

Called t's office and left a message. She called back 5 mins later but I was in the shower. She left a voice message staying she thought she try and quickly call me before her 5pm client. She said she's already working late tonight but might call later if not Thursday or Friday.

I feel like a total idiot. I shouldn't have called, it's not even important. Why do I do this!!!

It was clearly important, it was upsetting to you. She seemed to feel it was important too because she returned your call quickly. Your emotions may be saying "I'm an idiot!" but that doesn't mean you are an idiot
