Just curious if anyone's T has used pet names in therapy in passing?

I don't think my therapist has even called me Mike? I know I have made a point of calling her by her first name at least once during each session, usually when I'm leaving saying thanks.

She has a special nickname for me but never uses generic pet names (which would likely bother me).
I want to come up.with a nickname for her but so far I've come up empty.
My body work therapist calls me "my dear" I'm not sure if I like it or not....

My pdoc has a very specific pet name for me that I won't say here, because it would definitely identify me-but I love when she uses it. Pet names in therapy...

My nutritionist occasionally calls me hon, which I think is sweet.

No. I would be horrified if either of them tried it. I would be more likely to prefer formal last names with titles than a pet nickname.

The main one my T uses is "my dear" and I love it when she calls me this.

Thank goodness, not even No. 1 ever tried to pull that one.

Family, lovers, friends get to call me pet names. No one else.
Thanks for this!

My uni therapist calls me "sweetheart" and "babe". The latter amused me at first, but I've gotten used to it and actually sort of love it now! She is something else, that woman.

My dear, deary (most commonly used), honey, sweetheart very rarely. When she's proud of me she's said "That's my girl!"

But Deary is the main one, and she uses it with everyone.

Never. I'd find it really strange if he did.

My last T called me sweetie sometimes. Or "kiddo".

This T never called me anything but my first name. It makes me really sad that he doesn't show affection for me. : (

Sometimes she calls me 'dear'.
All of the time she calls me 'J___y' (sorry, too much identifying info. Heehee)
I often call her 'dear lady'.
Sometimes I call her 'sweet (her name here)'.

No but I would love it if she did. She doesn't ever really call me anything in session, usually just says "Hey Annie" when she comes and gets me from the waiting room.

No, never, and I'm kind of torn on whether I'd like that. It may feel a bit too close for comfort, but then of course I am always looking for signs of caring from my T. She rarely even uses my name. And refuses to call me by my nickname even though when I called her I used to use my nickname when I said who was calling, and in text messages. But I gave up on that. I don't like my full name but she insists on using it. So I doubt I will ever get a pet name from her

Sweetheart is the only one she uses in session. We're southern, so everyone is "sweetheart" or "dear" where I'm from lol. But I like it when she calls me sweetheart, it's somehow different coming from her than from anyone else.

He called me honey. Once. It activated my stopdog and it became quite clear I was displeased. Hasn't happened again in years.
Thanks for this!

My uni therapist says the same thing!

Of course she has also said that she wants me to BE her girl. So yeah… I guess I'm her girl?

No,

She calls me by my name. She has tried a shortened, diminutive version of my name once, and I requested she not use that.

He doesn't use any pet names, and I think I would hate it if he did. I like the distance between us, it makes me feel safe and respected.

If he called me anything other than my first name I'd be freaked out. He's not the type to say "dear" etc and it wouldn't suit him.
Thanks for this!
