Last week I told T (it took me 30 minutes to say, but I did it) that I'm going to have a really hard time saying goodbye to her in a couple of weeks. I generally don't express a lot of emotion with her but I was tearing up almost the whole hour and got choked up a few times so I think she really noticed it was bothering me. At the end of the session she said "It seems like it was hard for you to come up with words today. We can talk about this more next week. I think this is an important thing to talk about". I then asked her if I could write it all down and she obviously said I could do whatever is helpful.
So I wrote up my thoughts/feelings about saying goodbye to her and I'm thinking about emailing it to her Monday (my session is Wednesday). I'm pretty nervous about sending it though... Would anyone be willing to read it if I were to private message it to you? It's kind of long so I don't want to post it in a thread. |

I think writing it out is a great idea. I just ended with my therapist and I had my last session yesterday. I wrote her a long letter about how I felt therapy was and how much she means to me and I said that I would miss her and our space. I was so emotional at the end of my session that I couldn't talk and it was so helpful to have that letter for her to read because I couldn't get the words out. You can PM it to me if you want. I know how painful it is to have to end with a T.
