So since I started going on my medication, I've been putting on weight. This is a huge fear of mine and was one of the main reasons I did not want to go on the medication.

Ive been bullied about my weight in the past and my T is aware of it, so right now I'm freaking out about gaining weight again. I'm not in the mood/state to hate my body and cry about it all the time like before. Im in college now so I dont really worry about being bullied, but my self confidence is taking a huge blow right now.

So today I decided that I would start a diet of not eating a lot during the day, and making food for myself on Sunday night for the entire week but not exceeding a lot of calories. Im afraid to tell my T this because in the past when I told my T I was on a diet she didnt really agree or like the idea. Im just not sure if its worth mentioning to her again or not.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to lose a little bit of weight put on by a medication. Getting healthy should be priority. If you're using excessive measures (i.e. low calories), then maybe it might be a good idea to share this with your therapist. What made you think she didn't like what you said last time?

I would think it would be a good idea to share it with your T since it seems really important and on your mind. I get it, I have the same issue with meds and I hate it! And sometimes i feel it's hard for my T to understand that since she doesn't take those meds or have those issues. I still talk about it with her though.

She told me herself that she did not think dieting is a good idea or eating low calories for a certain period of time. I mean I get it that sometimes I dont eat the proper amount, but when i diet, my stomach shrinks so I can barely eat anything anyways.

I would tell her. Maybe she has some healthier ideas for you to try. People used to tell me it was worth it to put on weight due to meds because of the supposed benefits, but I think that's horrible advice. I mean, it would make sense if the medications were restoring health, but they aren't. Alternately, it's also worth talking to your pdoc or whomever prescribed it and tell them you want something that's weight neutral if possible.

I have had the impression before from your posts that weight and food are both issues for you. And that in general you don't eat enough. So I think it's something that should be discussed. At some point, whatever you weigh, you just have to get comfortable with that.

Yeah I've always had issues with not eating enough and my body image. The only issue is that I don't want to tell her now because I don't want to steer off the topic we are about to discuss next week because that's more important to fix in my life.

Do you see a separate p-doc for your meds? If so, I'd talk to him/her (like contact now, don't wait for an appointment).
