Some of you may know my last session with T is looming and I prepared an email for her of everything I was thinking and feeling.
Anyway, I've sent the email and now I'm really nervous about what she is going to say about it.
She will get it tomorrow and send a short reply in response which is usual but I don't know I'm just really antsy now.

You are bound to be anxious. Can you try to do something to take your mind off it? When is your last session, I hope it goes well for you.

It's nearly midnight here so it's bedtime! I'm struggling to settle though. My last session is Thursday and I have no idea how I'm going to react. At first I thought I would breakdown completely but now I'm not so sure. I'm nervous I think and my thoughts are everywhere.

I totally understand what that is like. I did the same thing a couple weeks ago and sent T another last night. My last session is Wednesday and I'm struggling with it.

If it makes you feel any better, my T was really helpful with her response to my first email. We talked about it in session and she really seemed to understand how I feel about saying goodbye and how hard this process is for me.

I wish it was easier for people to understand how hard it is to say goodbye to a T. There's really no relationship in life that can compare to it and a good T is someone who you never want to forget. My pain and hurt come and go over the course of a day but it helps me to know that my T understands and cares about what I'm going through.

I'm glad you sent the email and hope you get a good response! Good luck with your last session this week. Like I said, mine is Wednesday so I'm right there with you.

Hugs

Thank you. I'm sure I'll post about it here! This is what gets me too, people who haven't been in therapy have no idea what it's like to leave a T.
I hope you have a lovely last session with your T and get the closure you need. I find the feelings come in waves too...when they hit you it's such an awful heavy feeling

I am glad you sent the email. I am so sorry you are dealing with the pain of loosing your T. Its one of the hardest things and not a lot of people get it. The relationship between T and client is like no other. I wish everyone ending this week peace and hope. It will get better with time. I hope you guys have a good last session that you can always remember. Your feelings are ok and its ok to struggle and be emotional.

Thank you Cinnamon _Stick. T replied to the email and I feel so much better for her response. We're going to discuss the email at next session which I'm nervous about so hoping she can take the lead! She's honoured her word about going until the end of June which means I have two extra sessions, but if I'm honest I think it's more about having control over when I leave! I feel much more settled now.
