Hello everyone,

Good news is, I got a job; bad news is, I don't know how this will effect going to therapy. Ok, so I live in one state, but the job is is another. Of the bright side my house and my new job are only 20 minutes of each other. Yet, I digress.

So I'm on Medicaid in the state I live in and I will be getting insurance through my new job, I just don't know when or how that will work. The job starts August 1st and I have no idea how that will effect paying for therapy (currently I don't). Likewise, I plan to move closer to my new job because my so plans to go to a universe nearby for his master's.

I'm sad too, because I want to remain in therapy.

Help?
Hugs from:

I have my dads private insurance and Medicaid and Medicaid pays my copayments. So my appointments are no cost. It helps with med cost too.

After you start the paperwork for the new job, you can request the health insurance plan information from HR (or your boss if it is a small business). You can talk with HR/benefits or the insurance company about whether having the insurance means you have no Medicaid coverage (probably). They can also give you a list of what is covered and copays--that's how you can find out what your therapy will cost. If it is exorbitant, you can also talk with your T about finding a way to make it more affordable.

Congratulations on the job!

Thank you for the help. I'm just really sad because I may have to leave my therapist (because I plan to move before Christmas). We've been making progress but it's slow and I don't think we're at a good place to terminate.

Congrats!
Maybe if you guys move, you could commute to therapy? I live about 30 minutes from my t,and have lived as far away as an hour and a half (though that was not really worth the travel. At least not with that therapist). A good t can be difficult to find. Hope things can work out with current t for you.

From what doctors have told me, unless they're licensed in telecommunications, they can't unless they're doing it for free. They're not allowed to bill insurance companies if not properly licensed. :/ my doctor did that before she quit.
