I saw my T today after last weeks scheduling issue. She spent the whole time talking about why I would be upset with the schedule confusion. I explained to her my reasoning and she said that I was just paranoid and that I'm extreme. She said that if I brought it up then that we could've just laughed about it. She has done it in the past and she's asked me in the past and I've said okay. We've hit many bumps on the road and this is not my first rodeo. I told her that it was an accumulation and that I hit a point where I had enough. She didn't quite understand that and then said that. Then I spoke to her about my dieting and the issues that I've hit since she's my nutritionist as well and she diagnosed me as a therapist with an eating disorder. Then I told her that I wanted to address it and she said that she saw my text and that she's not paying attention to nonsense. I said but your my nutritionist and she said no I'm your therapist. However she was my nutritionist. It's not like I'm dreaming this. Then she said that if I wanted to see one that she can give me the name of one. I was seeing a nutritionist before her while I was still in her class. She recommended her and she was horrible. She knew nothing and had to look things up on the internet while I was there in order to give me answers and create some type of plan. She contradicted herself and gave me wrong information. Then I took that information to my T once the semester ended and she said that she couldn't believe that she would practice in that manner and that I was wrong. So I let that nutritionist go. Then I had a gap with no nutritionist and then my T decided to try to help. I guess that ended at some point. Perhaps the insurance won't cover it in a certain manner. She never explained but according to her it's all nonsense. However she specializes in that and I know from when I had my T in class that she didn't dismiss this one client she spoke about in that fashion and in fact I know that she sees her minimum twice a week. Our whole class was based on her. I guess she agreed to it. Here is an thinking then that she could help me out but I just found out today that it's nonsense.

That is confusing. I feel confused just reading it, so I'm sure it sucks a billion times more to be in the middle of it. Some of your T's comments sound very hurtful, but, hey, I wasn't there. Maybe there's some context I don't have. Either way, I hope you find a solution that works for you. Best of luck.

Yeah, that would steal the words right off my tongue, too. Sorry

Don't you have to be licensed to present yourself professionally as a nutritionist? Anyone know?

Have you considered perhaps finding a more stable, consistent therapist? This one seems kind of flaky and confusing.

She licensed as both but only practices nutrition with a few according to her. I believe she was a nutritionist at first and then went into therapy.

The more I've gotten to know her the more I see her inconsistencies. I'm not planning to go back. She consumed our session with last weeks scheduling issue that we had no time for anything else. She said that we only had a few minutes left to bring up something. According to my clock I had 15 from when we started being that she choose to use the bathroom and speak to another therapist during that time. According to her I had 3-4 minutes. There are times that I'm floored and I don't know what to say because I'm shocked.

Your therapist sounds awful honestly. Are you in any way attached to her which would prevent you from switching to someone who doesn't dismiss your concerns, doesn't lie and who is consistent. I know it's easy to say but if I were you I would definitely consider changing therapists.

I would find a new T. This one doesn't seem to help you, she just seems to create more stress and problems for you.

Is it possible she has dementia? Seriously. She seems to come off oddly and not reality-based.

I do feel attached to her. I feel like she knows me and she's made a couple of comments lately which were odd. I'm usually reserved with my thoughts about her and our work. I usually don't voice that to her because I don't what her to take it the wrong way or for it to be demeaning. I have tried before she gets defensive. I think she's a great therapist for some people but according to my particular case I think she dismisses many things and minimizes others. I do feel like I don't have a therapist and now I've a learned a nutritionist as well. I have grown attached to her over the years regardless of it all and I'm not sure why. her behavior lately has created been creating a distance for me and I've been more frank with her about my feelings about how i feel treated.

I think that she has such a busy schedule. She has many days off because she only works part time but her days are condensed. I think she had more clients than she can handle with her lifestyle. She very family oriented and I could see her personal life get involved with her work. She's very involved and active with her family while she's there. She's also texting and calling them. Her brother lives upstairs from where she practices and her husband is also a therapist in their facility. She's like distracted with that when I see her but she's also very devoted to certain clients. It's all where you fall. She knows now that I'm having an issue with it but texts and emails are out of the question for me. She won't answer. She's forgetful with me at times and contradicts what she says. I think her head is elsewhere.

You know what's funny? In my last session she mentioned out of nowhere that she remembers lots of things and that she never forgets, then she said that I think she's perfect and that those are my expectations. She just mentioned that out of the blue which I found odd because I've only complained here about her being forgetful. Thenonly time I mentioned the forgetful issue was with this past scheduling issue.
