I had a momentous experience in session today. I discussed with my T my self image that is not positive and I've been feeling terrible about myself.

I don't know exactly how she did it but T reflected a view of me that was opposite of my own view. She did it so naturally and so genuinely with no force nor insistence that I almost was able to see myself in a different light.

My T is a genius in that she is so authentic and so caring that I'm continually touched by my encounters with her.

Now, I'm not saying that I've been able to change how I view myself but T gave me a peek into what might be possible. Maybe I'll someday not be afflicted with so much self loathing and self criticism. I do believe that T honestly thinks differently about me than I think about myself and her modeling that viewpoint is healing. I feel it.

This is an awesome post. Often times my t will tell me how she sees me and/or how God sees me (as we are both Christians), which is always comforting to hear. The hard part is learning to let go of the self loathing and self criticism, as you said

I am also starting to see myself as T does and it's earth-shaking.
