Am I the only one who is finding the Presidential race triggering. I am so tired of hearing comparing which sexual indiscretions is worse. It has nothing to do with which candidate I support. All this Trump said this vulgar stuff and groped women women but Bill did this which is worse. Really sexual abuse is sexual abuse whether verbal or physical. To compare abuse for political reason is ridiculous.

It is triggering!

It's also sick, sad and disgusting that these are the only two candidates we have to choose from!

I for one will not be voting either way this go round because both of the candidates are absolutely deplorable to me!

Furthermore, I will not be bullied or cajoled into choosing between what I see as two evils!

Sincerely,
Pfrog!

Thanks for this!

The entire thing is triggering for me. I don't like debates. I despise arguing and mud-slinging.

I listened to enough of that growing up. I was involved in too much of it in my adult life.

The sexual comments on both sides are disgusting. Our presidential race is embarrassing.

I hold the office of POTUS to a higher standard.
I can't wait for it to be over.

One of the things that is keeping me up. I hope it is over soon, so I can deal with the results no matter what it is (I just hope it goes right).

I don't understand why people are trying to hold someone responsible for what their spouse may have done. That seems so stupid to me.

I would not call it triggering per se but it makes me angry and sad. I try not to watch/read about it that much now but I guess it will be better when it's over and we deal with the result.
Thanks for this!

I've started hiding all political posts. The blatant abusive personalities and the hate they seem to cause to surface online is really triggering to me too...

Yes, it's all making me tense and anxious. But political science is my field and I have little patience for people who complain that it's all so icky. Politics is going to be a down and dirty game because there's so much at stake. There have been a lot of deaths to give us the government we have, as imperfect as it is, and to fight for the civil liberties we have--and especially to fight and die for the right we have to informed voting.

Ugh... just got done watching the debate. The talk of sexual abuse is difficult for me, I can sit there and listen but it brings back unpleasant memories. Listening to Trump talk it feels like sexual abuse is minimized. And while Hillarymay have nothing to do with her husbands... indiscretions... it feels very secretive for me, just doesn't feel right. Not to get off topic but I'm not impressed with either candidate, God help us here in America.

I have had someone grab my [redacted]. I was a teenager waiting in line at a waterpark. It was extremely violating and horrid. I do find the headlines about it triggering, especially the notion that it's all in good fun. I'm already trying to psych myself up to discuss it with my T. It's oddly difficult for me to imagine telling her about it. And as a non-American, I'm puzzled to no end by the assertion that the casual condoning of sexual assault is an offense perpetrated by "both sides." I suppose (but am not fully convinced) that one can condemn sexual violence in a non-partisan fashion. But pul-eeez people: the notion that because neither candidate is without fault, they are equally heinous (and equally engaged in this misogyny) is just an abdication of intelligence. My kindergarten teacher used to ask us to "put our thinking caps on," I enjoin you to do the same.

I am all for being informed. However I do not believe it has to be to the extent it currently is. When an election gets to the point where it is all about mudslinging rather than the actual issues regarding our country and how it is run, it goes way to far

I find the small mindedness and snarkyness very triggering. By the time the election comes, I will have "unfollowed" most of my FB "friends"

I feel the same about FB.. some of my friends get so caught up and next thing you know they get nasty if you don't agree with them or if you're for the other candidate or for neither!
