I talked with my HR rep, who has no idea what happened and will have to research. My tax withholding has drastically changed, and I haven't changed my W-4. I'm not going to be able to pay my bills. Trying not to panic here, thanks for listening.

I will remember this Thanksgiving. Double teeth abscesses. Waiting on cardiac clearance. If that's a go, extraction scheduled for 10:20am tomorrow.

The paper bag is confusing -- is the paper bag just a paper bag? Or, does it mean something else in popular parlance?

(Or, I'll just wait for Unaluna to crack it in a jiffy)

Is a paper bag ever just a paper bag? It stands in for something that performs a similar function. I put it in the wrong place, though...it should have been before the second .

Unable to decipher paper bag still, I will make a wild guess with "Gone with the Wind" (although lots doesn't fit, dammit).

You're right! What doesn't fit? I thought I did the exodus from Atlanta quite well, given the limited number of emotica we have on here. And I even kind of worked in "As God is my witness, I'll never go hungry again!"

Paper bag = KKK hood.

Yayyyy!!! (Punctuation abuse deliberate)

Oh, it's been a real long while since I read it and so wasn't sure if the timeline fit in this exact order for all the events.

Going with the earlier uhhh...theme on the forums, I took paper bag = puke receptacle = pregnancy
Thanks for this!

That was my guess too, the three brides and the arguing were my clue. But by that reasoning, it almost coulda been Jane Eyre! Most excellent.

Heres another one. Wait for it, i have to look them up.

Novel, 3 words

Death in Venice?

Can't quite work in the hat-tip though (although serious kudos for brevity).

Well done! And thank you. The hat tip is when they encounter each other. This is so fun! I found myself choosing emojis that were from a single pov. There IS a discipline to this!

Yay!! (I can't seem to tap Thanks or Hugs on my phone -- so, punctuation abuse continues).

P.S. I was obsessed with that novel in college!

Thinking of granite and hoping surgery is going well. I'm working from home today but I didn't get permission. Kinda sorta in trouble. I needed people to stop interrupting me or piling on new projects. Our vp is cool so he only gave me a soft reprimand. Le sigh.

I think someone's implying I wasn't brief!

Here's one:

Not a novel, 2 words in its original title

Aww...hardly. You get kudos for fitting in a whole epic.

(I challenge you to attempt ahem...Homer now)

Unaluna's reminded me of Hemingway's baby shoes.

It's not Four Weddings and a Funeral because there are only three brides.
