I saw my T in passing today and we exchanged an excited hello! It felt like each of us wanted to stop to ask 'how are you' but we both kept on moving.

I should've asked her how she was and wished her a happy Christmas.
Never mind though, it was nice to see her, even in passing, and be greeted the way I was by her.

I miss her a lot still, and care very much about her, but seeing her hasn't brought up anything painful or any regrets about our relationship.

Progress...I think!

Just needed to get this out somewhere safe!

I'm not sure I want to just yet. I'm not ready to let someone else in! It sounds ridiculous but I would feel like I'm cheating on her.
My T was the first T I saw long term and told all of my deepest, darkest feelings and secrets!! I think I want to keep that special for now if that makes sense?!

Sure. There is nothing that says you have to find a new t until, and if, you want to. I hope you will enjoy learning from your ex-t. Do classes start in January?

Thanks kecanoe. You're spot on, classes start in January. She has years of experience so I'll learn a lot from her.

Yes, it makes perfect sense to me. Especially the cheating part. Therapy is so intimate that it can actually feel like a relationship at times. I left my t last year to find a new t and it felt like I was betraying her, I couldn't stand the guilt and went back to my t.
Keep it special for as long as you need, it sounds like it needs to. E honoured for a while.
When you start your classes you might feel differently because they do bring up quite a lot .
Thanks for this!

Yes, I need to honour it. You're exactly right!

That's what my T said...about the classes bringing up things and my feeling differently!
I'm sure I'll post about how the classes are going at some point. It'll be different but good.
T said we will get through it together so I have every faith that it will all be ok Saw T in passing today.
