I have just finished reading the book "Other Women" by Lisa Alther. I have to say it was a brilliant read. I am grieving the loss of the characters in this book. The article above is an interview with the author. I thought the author had some training in psychotherapy as the book was so accurate and beautifully written. Turns out the author wrote the book on her own experience with her therapist Nancy. If you are anyway interested in the relationship between client and therapist I would read this book. It is fiction but based on reality. The authors therapist became a consultant in the book too. |

I read the interview. Thank you; it was very interesting. In fact, the whole journal looks good! I skimmed through it. Did you read Alther's book about artists or her first book, Kinfolks? I usually enjoy books about therapy!

No I didn't read her other books but was thinking of getting them because I enjoyed this one so much. What really struck me was the therapists honesty and self disclosure. It felt more real, the relationship between them.
