I wanted to start a thread where we can thank our T's. Feel free to post anything you're grateful for that your T has done for you!

Thanks for always being there for me. For being present in our sessions and working with me. For talking to me on the phone between sessions. For talking to my mom. For having my best friend and another friend and my aunts come into sessions. For visiting me in the hospital. For hugging me that one time. For high fiving me. For making me playlists and listening and dancing to the ones I've made you. For giving me your necklace and a seashell and two rocks and a bracelet and lotion and everything else. For making bracelets with me. For playing Monopoly with me. For playing with clay with me and doing sand trays. For making a collage and pillow cases with me. For teaching me things and helping me stay safe. For caring about me and loving me. For self disclosing and telling me about yourself and your life. For being okay with me when I'm late. For accepting me as I am and loving me unconditionally. For being a wonderful T. I'm so grateful for you and everything you've done for me over the last year and a half. I love you so much!! Thank you for being you.

Two things I mostly thank my T for is for never shaming me for my needs and transference/attachment and also his extreme patience

T,

Thank you for always being present in our sessions, for accepting feedback when I've felt you messed up a couple of times, for letting me message you outside of session and reading them though your boundary is to not reply.

Thank you for being validating, engaged in our sessions and supporting me as I talk about my family. Thank you for that piece of paper where you wrote down sentences of care which we came up with. Thank you for making it OK to cry. Thank you for not blocking me from your public social media page.

T, thank you for being patient with me when I use sarcasm and jokes as an avoidance strategy. Thank you for not belittling me or talking down to me. Thank you for standing up for me when I am my own worst enemy.

To No. 3 - thank you for actually being effective, unlike the other three.

Long term t you saved my life. I wish we still talked more often.

Sparky thank you for kicking my butt with a smile. You were the perfect balance of caring and pushy.

Kashi oh what am I going to do with you. I thank you for our innate connection and mutual understanding. But I need this to go somewhere. Right now it's just adult babysitting and I feel a little weird about that.

Thank you for sticking with me so closely for so many years, more than anyone outside of my family ever has, even when it was difficult for you and maybe the pay wasn't worth the trouble. Thank you for changing your approach and truly listening. Thank you for being your old friendly warm caring self again and offering me not just a paid-for session, but also your authentic concern for my well-being and our therapeutic relationship.

T,

Thank you for your composure. I've always really appreciated that about you.

Thank you for recognizing that what I was dealing with was abuse, for helping me name it and keeping it 'real,' when no one else knew or would call it what it was.

Thank you for knowing me well enough that
A) you know when I'm
Possible trigger:
even when I haven't acknowledged the feelings yet, and
B) you know me well enough that as soon as I said, "bipolar II," you knew it was right and said that it made all the pieces fit together. That diagnosis changed my life.
