So, I saw T this morning and we talked quite a bit. Surprisingly(not sure why i felt/feel that way), she agreed that meds and hospital should be an absolute last resort. I told her of my plan that I found for some dietary changes I'm going to try to make. It's called Whole30. In my researching the post-withdrawl effects of going off psych meds(though it's been 9 months) I found a recommendation for the Whole30. Anyway, I'm also supposed to start getting some kind of physical activity in as well even if only 10 minutes. Hopefully by April 1st I will be prepared to start. My goal is actually next weekend but I'm giving myself a little coushion. I'm trying not to set myself up to fail but also give myself to better prepared. We'll see. I do fully plan to start by april 1 but hopefully sooner. I got an instant pot which once I learn to use it should make cooking easier. CAN'T WAIT! I'm scheduled again with T for 8 weeks out(obviously she trusts me which I had convinced myself betwen scheduling the appt and going in wasnt true). That will be 30+ days after I start Whole30. Even the slightest change in energy and mental clarity would be well worth the changes I'm going to make!

I did the Whole30 program twice during a year after I quit a nasty drinking habit and really liked how I felt on it. More energy, slept better, felt more stable in general. It can be a bit challenging in the beginning and takes work, but I found it worthwhile and I enjoyed learning to cook new things.
Good luck to you!

My long term t always told me that good nutrition, exercise and sleep hygiene is better than any antidepressant. I didn't understand at the time. I thought we was being dismissive and anti meds but he wasn't. He meant it.

So I am probably living in outer space somewhere, but what is Whole30? A eating program, I assume? If you don't mind saying. If you'd rather not, just tell me to google it

whole30 link: Step Two: Read the Program | The Whole30® Program

Growly...he is very right. From what I've seen...I'm definitely not ever trusting any modern MD or DO(medical or psychiatric) in this country quick to prescribe meds. It's time to start doing more research on the old ways of healing and find people specializing in those modes. Definitely if it's made chemically, it's not entering this body. My goal is to stick with the whole30 which eliminates a lot of the crap at least in processed foods. Anyway, I'm not against people being on meds that's a choice for the individual. Just saying I wouldn't do it again for anything.
Thanks for this!
