So I am relatively new to therapy and my T has been using Internal Family Systems with me. I...well... I don't know that enjoy is the right word but at times I feel like it is helpful, other times I feel like it's the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Has anyone had much experience/success with IFS?

My old t used IFS. I felt the exact same way - helpful, yet incredibly stupid in the beginning. I did grow to like parts work, and as a whole, this work wound up being very helpful for me in the long term.

My T and I did IFS most sessions when I first started seeing her. I also thought it was weird but I grew to love it! I felt free to be open with my feelings when it was a part talking. My T does SE, somatic experiencing with me more now though I liked IFS better.

I like IFS and have found it helpful. And, like you, sometimes stupid. My H, on the other hand, did not like it.
