I found a hilarious picture of my T.. He's got a tie wrapped around his head.. His shirt unbuttoned down to his stomach.. His eyes closed.. And he's doing what looks like hang signs.. What a dork haha

T is alive and well even tweeting... still no response to my emails. May be throwing a slight hissy fit that he won't respond to my email this week.

I sit on a board by virtue of my job, and yesterday they voted to allow someone to take a slightly different educational path than the norm. They also voted to give him some $ toward the cost of this alternate path if he asked for it. And I know this person through my work-and this board knows that. Everything that happens at this board meeting is confidential.

So how do I somehow tell this person to ask for money? Telepathy would be helpful. Carrier pigeon?

Art, I work with people who are changing careers. I have had people as old as 72 who are entering a process that takes at least a year before their first position in the field and many at least 3 years of education. And for many it means a step down in salary.

You don't even max out on Social Security benefits unless you work until you are 72. That means 22 more years. Which is a very long time to do something that you really don't feel right about doing.

I have a masters degree, working on a doctorate and I make a pittance. But I would do my job even if I weren't paid to do it. My health precludes me working full time, so there is that to take into consideration. But IMO it just doesn't make sense to spend 8 hours a day doing something that does not feel right.

It wouldn't hurt to drum and think about what would be essential in a dream job.

Thanks. It's not so much what i do cuz i find ways to make that work for me, its the who i work for.... As they rake in their almighty dollar.... And the fact that I'm just a tiny cog in their huge money-grubbing machine. No matter how big of a difference i might make in any one caller's day, at the end of the day I'm still part of that machine and I'm starting to feel wrong about that.

My former boss would say, "I'm not supposed to tell you this, but if you ask the board for money to help with this new path, they will give you some. But you didn't hear it from me."

My boss is not in your line of work though, and she routinely does things like this. I'm guessing you won't though, so maybe ask him if he's talked to anyone about ways to make ends meet? Yeah, not so subtle, but I would hate to see him lose an opportunity. Why don't they just offer it to him outright?

Just wanted to share.....

Here's a picture that takes my breath! They tried this today and that sweet baby was the calmest she has been since they had to take her to NICU. My heart is melting and so grateful!

These are three pieces of my heart! I won't leave it to stay. I just wanted to share for what I posted from where I was last night. Thank you for hearing me!!

Evening, couch.

I am home from CVS and caught up on the couch. Testing was horrible today...two off the wall groups. Stresses me out so much. Only 2 days left of it for me as I am getting moved to the behavioral class on Wednesday and can't leave the students...so no more test administering for me. Don't know how much better the behavioral class will be though. I guess I will find out on Wednesday.

I so need to clean my room still. I am such a bad Squirrel. It's getting out of hand again. I just can't seem to be able to keep it clean.

I am hungry but don't feel like cooking (or even making a salad or ham and cheese sandwich). I do have pre sliced apples and caramel dip...maybe that can be "dinner". Ir chocolate dip and strawberries.

I've been reading your posts about testing and I have a pure curiosity question. Your bio says that you're looking for a teaching job, but you're currently a TA (what we call IAs here). The testing that you're helping with, is it state testing or just teacher administered? Just curious as to what your current placement entails. I know that it's probably going to be a lot different on Wednesday!

I was testing all day as well, and it was miserable. Ended up throwing one of the kids from one group out due to behavior, and one group was delayed because I had to deal with middle school drama.

Personally I think your dinner sounds delicious! Hope you enjoy.

They say that we are going to have bad weather here tomorrow. It's not usually good for us when it's coming from Texas.

I hope you are good!!

We're fine. Just pea to marble sized this time, not the baseball size that came through the end of March and left us needing a new roof. At least the contractor hadn't started on our roof yet. I'm in no rush. These storms tend to go into May.

I lost one of my dogs to cancer a few months ago. Our dog breeder gave us another dog soon after. She's a 3 year old Sheltie who they tried to breed, but it didn't work out. She's also the half sister of my 4 year old Sheltie. We just had her spayed and we did a blood test at the same time. She's sick We don't know what's wrong yet. She has low rbc, low wbc, and low protein. The emergency vet says Addisons is the best case scenario. I'm just sad that we've only had this dog 2 months (and we really love her), but she's really sick and might even die.
